HDMI Matrix Switch: Enables switching between multiple HD sources and multiple HD displays

The HDMI Matrix Switch routes high definition video from many HDMI sources to many HDMI displays. The matrix format allows for versatility and eliminates the need to disconnect and reconnect sources to a display with a single input. By using this device, a user ensures a versatile environment wherein he can literally have the same program material displayed on all HDMI outputs, or can use the device to send signals from different sources to different displays simultaneously. Beneficial to end users, this switcher operates on High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) technology which provides HD video and multi-channel audio through a single cable.

This type of Video Matrix Switch works with any source which is connected to a HDMI display. Working on the plug and play methodology, the inputs of this device need to be connected to the HDMI sources and the displays to the outputs of the matrix. Once power is applied the matrix is ready for use. Switching between the sources and outputs is easy and can be done via front-panel manual control buttons, Infra Red remote control or via RS-232. The front-panel LED's indicate which input has been selected. A key feature of this device is the ability to maintain high resolution video up to 1080p and computer resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. Certified by CE, FCC and ROHS and being HDMI and HDCP compliant, this HDMI Matrix Switcher ensures that the video signal is not pirated and the viewer gets to see crystal clear and crisp high resolution images. Available in many models such as 2x2, 4x2 and 4x4, this device has the ability to overlook those input sources which are not in use.

Larger distributions can be achieved as this device can be daisy chained or stacked and hence offers multiple viewing combinations. It can support a Video Amplifier Bandwidth up to 2.25Gpbs/225MHz and works with HD-DVD players, TiVo systems, PCs, and satellite set top boxes that connect to an HDMI display. People who have a HD monitor with less than the desired number of HDMI inputs can use the HDMI Matrix Switch to expand the system. Question by Jillian K: What is the difference between a regular LCD Monitor and an HDTV or HD Monitor?
I am in the market for a 22-24" monitor for my computer. I will use it for web surfing, photo editing, and the occasional watching of videos via YouTube or Hulu. Is it worth the investment to get a HD or HDTV monitor? What benefits does it offer that a regular LCD does not?

Sounds like you need just a regular LCD monitor, the only time someone needs a HD Monitor is if they are gaming, also watching TV if it has a built in tuner or advanced video or photo editing.
